Nerd Lacquer - Scully

Hi Everyone!!  So I cannot even express how happy I am that Nerd Lacquer is back!  I was so worried about the owner, Amanda, and am so glad that the nail community could welcome her back with open arms. Amanda has gone through a lot over the last year, and my heart goes out to her.  It is so inspiring to see her get back into action though!!

Today, I have the last of my trio of Harlow & Co. Exclusives by Nerd Lacquer.  This is Scully!  I am beyond excited to have gotten this, as it is so so stunning!  Since Nerd Lacquers sell out so quickly, I hope Amanda will be making lots and lots more to share the NL love!

I refreshed for those for like 3 hours back when NL was first out!  I have held those as prized possessions (LOL) and was sad to miss Scully, but am glad I got my paws on it now!  And honestly, after a year or so of Nerd Lacquer not being in production, I was so sad for everyone to miss out on the beauty that is Nerd Lacquer!! I kept my NLs on the shelf tucked away because I know how much it stinks to want something you can't have and I never wanted to "show off".  I do hope that each and every one of you are able to snag the ones you've been waiting for!  I know it can be hard trying to fight the crowds, but these are worth all the patience and waiting!  Promise!

So here is Scully!!!  The flecks looked pink under my light box!

For this mani, I used 2 coats of Scully along with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.  The next couple of pictures are outside as the sun was setting.

I love the silver glitters that are in this!!  They are gorgeous!  Along with the white in this peachy base!  The lighting really changes how it looks too!  I mentioned about that the flecks looked pink....

But in my bedroom and kitchen, the flecks had a blue/purple look to them!!  SO gorgeous!

NERD LACQUER is BACK!!!

UPDATE: Nerd Lacquer did post on Saturday around 2:30 pm (Central), but I missed it :-(  I hear that things sold out immediately, and even over sold.  We all hope she restocks soon!  I hope I will catch the info and try my best to pass it along for you!  *crosses fingers* for us all to snag some next time!!!!

UPDATE:  Nerd Lacquer just posted on Google+ (Amanda uses that for her social media), that she forgot about the whole "DNS Propagation" thing wherein a newly published site can take 24-48 hours to actually become live online.  She'll post as soon as it goes live, but chances are we'll catch it first.  So let's help each other out...because that's what the nail community does!  I will let you know if I see anything!! No fighting ladies (and gents), I'm sure there will be plenty to go around!  I heard like 700 bottles this restock, but more to come.  We can be patient for something we've waited so long for, right?  *cheers* to Nerd Lacquer coming back.  We've missed you, Amanda!

I seriously remember refreshing about 3 hours or more for Batcave and Han Shot First at Harlow & Co.  Luck was on my side that day!  And I was determined to get them!  And then when Amanda was gone, it made me appreciate my collection even more.  But I am SO beyond happy you will all have the chance to snag some Nerds too!

Nerd Lacquer Nebula

 

Hello!  I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!  I was became seriously addicted to finishing Fifty Shades series this weekend!  I honestly thought they were going to be totally different from what they were...and I really loved them!  Without giving too much away, I just loved the story of them!  I wish there was more :-)  Anyway...So now I need a break from reading I think!  I always get so wrapped up into books!!  I haven't been online since like Wednesday or Thursday lol! 

So today I want to share this polish because it is truly beautiful.  Unfortunately, the shop of Nerd Lacquer has been closed for quite a while, without response from Amanda the owner.  From what I've tried to find out, no one can get into contact with her.  I sincerely hope she is ok :-(  I have talked to Mr. CC about it and my instant thought (though dramatic), is that if something happened to her, would her husband or friend or anyone know how to log into all her information to update everyone?  I mean, I sincerely hope that isn't the case and that I'm just being drastic, but it just really makes me think.  I have told Mr. CC that I really need to sit down with all my passwords and login information so that he has that, and I for his.  Even though I don't "know" you all, I still feel as though you should know, should anything happen to me!  I have hope for Amanda to come back, and that she and her family are doing well.

Nebula is a gorgeous burgundy color with holographic glitters and blue, red, and pink hexagons.  It is so beautiful!  This is 3 coats with Seche Vite top coat.  It has almost a jelly base to it, which gives the polish a 3-D look.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 I know it isn't fair to show you guys a polish that is no longer available at this time, but I think it's too pretty not to share.  I have lots of others by Nerd Lacquer that I would like to share with you, so I may do those into one picture heavy post. 

I just hope we aren't too quick to judge something we don't know anything about.  I have read far to many negative things in regards to what may or may not have happened to Amanda.  It is a gift to become so close to this Indie brand owners, as I think it continues to unite us all together by sharing something we all love.  From what I can tell, no one knows what has happened, so I'm going to keep positive and hope that she and her family are ok.

Nerd Lacquer Holy Grail

Well Hello Monday, you are here again!  :-)  Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend!  I ended up finishing the Hunger Games trilogy.  I'm kind of glad so I can stop obsessing about what happens, but I am a tad sad for it to be over!!  I want more!!  And the movies...well it's going to be forever until the next one is released! ;-)  haha  Other than that, just a relaxing weekend for me!

So you may have heard of this color, Holy Grail by Nerd Lacquer.  Amanda sells through a few stores.  I've purchased through Harlow and Co. - HERE, Ninja - HERE, and her own Etsy shop - HERE.  She has listed an update on her Etsy site, so you can check that out.  She ran out of base and had some other things going on, which explains why she has been SO busy lately!  Hopefully she'll open in a few weeks and also supply the other shops.  Both Harlow and Ninja have custom colors that are exclusive to their shops!  They are gorgeous.  I haven't seen Harlow stock Holy Grail, but I did see it listed through Ninja.  I bought this particular bottle from Amanda's Etsy shop.

Here is Amanda's description on Holy Grail!

HOLY GRAIL is a super-fine-grained satiny linear holo in a dusty blue-green base with silver microglitter, medium blue-green iridescent glitter, and a liberal sprinkling of big square and hexagonal silver holo glitter. Oh, also? GLOWS IN THE DAMN DARK.

Glow-in-the-dark linear holo glitter polish. That's about all that needs to be said.

I love it!  It does glow in the dark, but my camera couldn't catch it.  I turned off the night before bed, and my tips were glowing!  It kind of freaked me out at first - LOL!  This polish is so pretty.  All the pieces that come together to create it, make it very different and complex, but so stunning!  Mr. CC talked about this color non-stop, asking when I would order it!  So you know it's gotta be good if he really wanted me to get it!  I kept telling him because it was out of stock, I couldn't order it, but once i had it, I wore it immediately!  I just didn't get a chance to post, so sorry for the delay! ;-)  On to the pictures!  I used 3 coats with Wicked Fast Top Coat.

I love that in the shade you can see the irridescent glitter.  It glows!!  Such a fun creation by Amanda!  This polish was a little more than the others, I paid $16.00 for it, which I think it because of the materials to get that holo and everything!
