Shimmer Polish - Tape Manis - Week 3

Happy Friday!!!  We're back with week three of the tape mani series featuring the fantastic Shimmer polish!!  As I've mentioned in the previous weeks, Cindy, the owner, was kind enough to send me 10 different beautiful polishes for review, so we will have a new tape mani every Friday for this 10 week event! I am so excited!!  They are all stunning!

Today, we'll be looking at Irene!  It reminds me of sand, which reminds me of the beach, which reminds me, where is Summer!?!? hehe   Here are a couple bottle shots.

You can purchase Shimmer Polish HERE on Etsy. You can also visit the
Shimmer Polish Blog! for information and lots of swatches! And you can also stay up to date with

For this mani, I started with 2 coats of Zoya Wednesday and topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top (it dries SO fast~!).

Once that is dry, probably about 20 minutes or so, it's safe to use the tape! Of course, the longer you wait, there is less of a chance for smudges! If you are going to do a tape mani after wearing the polish for a day or two, I recommend reapplying the top coat to prevent the tape from pulling any of the original color with it!

I know I've talked about all this in the last two posts, but just in case you missed it!  When I do a tape mani, I apply the tape to my hand a few times to remove some of the tackiness of the tape. I lay it diagonally on the nail and with the clear tape, you can make sure the edges are flat against the nail. I do each nail individually with tape, then apply the polish. Once applied, I remove the tape and move the next nail. By the time that is finished, I add top coat and TA-DA!!  Look at that gorgeous bottle!

I love how these two look together!!  It reminds me of a tropical island!!

Here is my bedroom lighting to better show the holo/sparkle that is in Irene!  It is very sparkly but in a subtle way.  It reminds me of a dusting of glitter on my tips!

Here is a close up of Irene's glitter mix!  So many beautiful colors in there!

And a close up of the nail!

In case you missed the previous manis, Candace is HERE! and Julie is HERE!

I hope you are enjoying the Shimmer Polish tape manis so far!! Please check back next week for the next tape mani! ;-)

In case you missed above, you can purchase Shimmer Polish HERE on Etsy. You can also visit the

Girly Bits - Stormy Skies and Indian Summer!

Hello!  Today I have a tape combo for you using Girly Bits!! I love these two separately and thought they really complimented each other together!

I applied 2 coats of Stormy Skies and topped with Seche Vite.  Once that was dry (I watched TV for an hour, but it was plenty dry before my show was over), I applied tape to my nail.  A way to prevent the tape from being too stick is to apply it to your hand a few times to remove the tackiness of the tape.  I apply each nail separately and paint 1 coat and immediately remove the tape.  I love the crisp line it leaves.  I then finished with Seche Vite top coat.

You can purchase Girly Bits from http://girlybits.bigcartel.com/, Llarowe - Girly Bits, and Harlow & Co. - Girly Bits. Prices vary from $10 to $13 depending on the item (some are higher due to materials) and the shop. And Harlow & Co. offers free shipping over $50 to anywhere! And Girly Bits website is free shipping over $60. Another shop is Overall Beauty, with great customer service and quick shipping! Also, I haven't had the pleasure of ordering from Mei Mei Signatures, but I hear great things about them! Gotta love all the options to get your Girly Bits!! ;-) Each site has different polishes in stock right now, but they are worth checking out!

The combo is subtle, yet in some lights you can see the Indian Summer blue looks a little darker.  I think Indian Summer would be pretty layered over lots of colors!  The dark colors would probably bring out the gold shimmer and give a different look to the glitters!

Love this bottle close up!  Look at that gorgeous gold shimmer!!!

A great way to stay up to date on Girly Bits is through Facebook! Pam, the owner, updates restocks and includes swatches of colors! Another great way to see upcoming collections is by following Pam's Blog! Here are the other shop's Facebooks: Harlow & Co. - Facebook, Llarowe - Facebook, Overall Beauty - Facebook, Mei Mei Signatures - Facebook.

Stormy Skies bottle is so pretty too!  The little glitter shimmers sparkle so beautifully!  It kind of reminds me of a less sparkly Fathomless!  Almost like they could be in the same family of shimmer/glitters.

A couple close ups!

I hope you enjoyed this tape mani!!  It's been a while since I've done one, but I love how this turned out!!

Have a great day!!

Much Love,
Crystal

Sindie POP If The Heel Fits and Enchanted Polish Spinkled

Hello Everyone and Happy Friday!!  I have to apologize because I had NO sun yesterday! :-(  I have a few reviews to do and was all ready to swatch and it was cloudy and dark out.  Of course that would happen right?  So next week get ready for some awesome colors that are coming out!  I will have the Fall Collection by Sindie POP and a new to me Indie Brand, Frankenstein Polish!  I also have another gorgeous glitter from Imperial Nail Lacquer too!  :-)  Hopefully the sun will be out all weekend!  I also am going to look into building a light box, because the winter will be here before we know it - eeek!!

So I showed this on my Instagram because I was so in love with it.  Unfortunately, Sindie POP was unable to get the supplies for this glitter from her supplier, so it is no longer available.  Jessica is working on creating another version of it, so I will let you know if I hear anything!  Until then, you can shop her other amazing colors at her  Sindie POP Lacquer shop.

This is 2 coats of If The Heel Fits, based on Cinderella, from the Princesses Collection.  I used 1 coat of Wicked Fast for the top coat.  On Instagram, I mentioned it reminds me of Nerd Lacquer Shiny.  You can see that post HERE!  They have their differences and I love them both, but I do see similarities too!

There are tiny little holographic particles that shine through to give this polish an extra little sparkle!

So sometimes I get ideas to combine colors.  Sometimes I love them, sometimes I hate them.  I absolutely LOVE this combination!  It's been a while since I've had a combo I've really really loved.  This is it.  The jelly-like base of Spinkled turns this purplish color over the blue of If The Heel Fits!  Spinkled has bits of holographic glitters too, but instead of silver glitters, it has black.  I just love when polishes compliment each other like this.  In person it was so striking and beautiful!

I know I mentioned in my post the other day this won't be available yet...please don't hate me for sharing this combo!  I just had to!! I hope you understand...lol!!  You can see my original post for Spinkled by Enchanted Polish, HERE!  So please enjoy these photos!  I know it's hard when you see polishes that aren't available, but I am sure there are others that you can make a similar combo with!! Hopefully this still gives you all some great ideas!! hehe

I recommend checking out the Llarowe and Harlow & Co. shops to see other pretties by Enchanted Polish! There are some amazing colors available, but a lot are out of stock! They restock quite a bit, so make sure to follow them on Facebook for shop updates, Llarowe - Facebook and Harlow & Co. Facebook.

They both have that holographic glitter, but of course If The Heel Fits wouldn't show it!  But do you see the blurry little glitters in Spinkled!?! YUM!

Sorry I spammed you guys with so many photos...I really couldn't help myself!!! Ok, so thank you for checking this out!  I hope you love it like I do!?!?!

Have a wonderful weekend!!

Elemental Styles - Xenon: Warrior Princess

Happy Happy Happy Friday!!! LOL ;-)  Any plans for the weekend?  I have so much I *should* do, but it's so much more fun to lounge around, isn't it? haha

Today I have a gorgeous matte glitter by Elemental Styles!  This is called Xenon: Warrior Princess!  I grew up watching Xena!  Loved her - she was sucha powerful woman!  And I love the twist on the name!!! Whitney's description of Xenon is this:
Xenon: Warrior Princess is another layering glitter that, after three coats, can be worn on its own! She is a clear-based polish with matte pink, purple, and white fine glitters! She's tough as nails and kicks butt on a nail wheel over white (2 coats), pink (1 coat), and all by herself (3 coats). Xenon: Warrior Princess is the girlier sister of Xena and is named after the 54th element, xenon!

Elemental Styles can be purchased on Etsy, http://www.etsy.com/shop/ElementalStyles.  I was so glad to get a bunch at her last restock!  She has some amazing creations!

I decided to use OPI Dating a Royal, which is a gorgeous blue jelly!  This is 2 coats, no top coat.

Then I used 1 coat of Elemental Styles Xenon and Cult Nails Wicked Fast Top Coat.

I had slight tip wear from the Dating a Royal, so I decided to tip my nails with Dating a Royal!  I don't do this often, but I should!  I really liked the look!! I used scotch tape for the line - works so well!  I then used 1 coat of Seche Vite.

I just love how that turned out!  Such a gorgeous glitter top coat!!  And I love the blue with it!  I got a lot of compliments on it!

I have updated my pictures for the giveaway!!  Here are the four prizes!  Make sure you enter today, as it will end at 12:01 EST on 6/16/12! ENTER RAFFLECOPTER at the end of the page!

I just want to extend a warm welcome to all those that have found their way here to my blog!  Some have come from Instagram, Pictage, or any of my other means of social media, and others are completely new! :-)  Where ever you are from, I'm glad you're here and thank you for stopping by!  It's like my own little corner of the web and I'm so glad I get to share it with you all!  And THANK YOU so much for ALL of the kind words over the past couple of weeks!  The many compliments and encouragement that I have received has touched my heart in ways that I can never express!  It means a lot to me :-)

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and I will announce this weekend who the winners are!  I wish you all lots of luck!!!

Much Love,
Crystal
