Polish Addict - Princess Sophia and Cucumber Melon Cuticle Oil

Hello!! Happy Friday already!! Anyone have any New Year's Eve plans??  2013 will be here in a few!!!

Today I have Polish Addict Princess Sophia to show you! I started with a 1 coat of ManGlaze ILF as a base.  I love this color!! It has a gorgeous shimmer to it!!

Then I applied 1 coat of Princess Sophia!  I actually didn't photograph this with a top coat on!  I applied one later to preserve it, but it stayed fairly glossy for not having one on in these pics!

Laura, the owner, has a shop at www.shoppolishaddict.bigcartel.com. She should be restocking today!! Make sure you check it out, because she has some beautiful creations available!! You can purchase Princess Sophia full size for $4 on sale right now!

To stay up to date with Polish Addict for upcoming collections, restocks, and other business news, you can follow @polish_addict_34 on Instagram and check out Polish Addict on Facebook too!

I don't know what made me think to pair these two, but I loved this!!! The glitters would glow and it felt almost like a mermaid type mani!  The hearts are a fun addition to this too!

Close up!!  You can see the shimmer in ILF and the gorgeous glitters of Princess Sophia!

Next I have a quick review of the organic cuticle oil by Polish Addict!!

You can choose your scent - Organic Cuticle Oil for $4 for a full size!! Hurry before the sale ends!!
BEWARE! LOL  This is the before, but seriously, my nails have been really rebelling lately!  They are staining more than usual and you can see my index peeling :-(  I definitely need to start using my cuticle oil a lot more because of this winter!!   But yuck, my nails look so bad here! haha

I love to have lots of cuticle oil on to soak for a few minutes.  I rub it in over my nail and cuticles, as well as entire hands.  I then wash off and apply lotion.  Otherwise, I apply smaller amounts of cuticle oil and rub in.  Again, lotion helps take away some of that greasy-ness, so you can keep the oil on.  I love to apply before bed.  Cuticle Oil helps moisten the nail, so when it grows it is healthier.  It also keeps the skin around the nail moisturized.

Here is after!  In my opinion, it's much better (not perfect, but hey, I'll take it)!  This is after washing, but cuticle oil usually remains as the water usually beads off the hand.  Actually, I can still smell the cucumber melon on my skin and I used it over 5 hours ago! YUM!  It makes me want to snag some of her other scents too!  Peppermint Bark and Vanilla Bean Noel are limited edition, but I want to eat them both from their names alone!!

I hope you enjoyed this look at 2 products from Polish Addict!!  Again, please check out her many other goodies at www.shoppolishaddict.bigcartel.com!

Everyone enjoy the weekend!!!  It's the last one of 2012~!!!
Much Love,
Crystal

Nostalgic - Mad World and Rock Me Amadeus

Hello Everyone!! It's Thursday already!! yay!  I have two beauties from Nostalgic Lacquer today.  First up we have Mad World.  This is a gorgeous glitter mix!! Perfect for New Year's Eve!

I started with 2 coats of Chanel Vertigo and added one coat of Mad World then topped with Seche Vite.  The glitter applied very nicely and gives great coverage for just one coat!  The mix is fantastic, ensuring that every nail will look unique!

It was hard to capture, but the glitter also reflects beautifully.  A few of the glitters are holographic, so they add extra sparkle!

The cool thing about this collection from Nostalgic, is that these are all based on songs.  Here is the song/video from YouTube for Mad World, by Tears for Fears.  I'm loving the 80's theme of the songs too :-) So fun!  It makes me laugh, because I just remember listening to these songs with my Mom!

Nostalgic Lacquer is sold at http://nostalgicnaillacquer.bigcartel.com/ for $9.75 each.  Both are in stock!!

She also sometimes adds stock to her shop on Etsy, Nostalgic Lacquer. You can also find polishes at Overall Beauty - Nostalgic for $10 each. Kim, the owner of Overall Beauty, is very nice and has great customer service!  And just recently, these are now on Shoppe Eclectico - Nostalgic Lacquers!  Unfortunately, most are sold out.

Stay up to date on Nostalgic by following http://nostalgicnaillacquer.com/, Facebook or Erin's Blog.

I love these two shots of the bottles where you can see how much variety you have with this glitter!  I see squares, hexagons, diamonds, bar glitter, circle glitter, hearts, and that's just shapes!  It's a rainbow of color in the bottle!  Any color would look great as a base for this, as it adds that extra party/confetti feel!

Erin says: "Mad World is a part of the New Wave Winter collection and is a dazzling mixture of approximately 100 different glitters (and growing!). Hexes, squares, diamonds, shreds, hearts, stars, circles and bars! Each bottle is completely unique and different from the next. Layer this over your favorite base colors to create a totally original look."

Close up!

Next we have Rock Me Amadeus!!

For this mani, I used 2 coats and topped with Seche Vite.  In certain angles I can see my nail line, but in person it isn't as noticeable.

It applied extremely well!  The glitters applied perfectly.

This color is based on the song Rock Me Amadeus by Falco.   Here is a video from YouTube.  At first I didn't think I knew it, but as it played, I do know the chorus! :-)

Here is a bottle shot!  Isn't this such a great combo of glitters?!

Erin says:  "Rock Me Amadeus is a part of the New Wave Winter collection and is a white base with burgundy, black, aqua and purple squares and hexes in multiple sizes. Perfect over your favorite white base color but very buildable on it's own!"

Close up!!  So creamy and pretty!  I love it in 2 coats, but you could easily layer as Erin suggested!

I really love the collection theme.  I did a little more research to get some info on the New Wave music, and here a quick quote from Wikipedia:
New Wave is a subgenre of rock music that emerged in the mid to late 1970s alongside punk rock. The term at first generally was synonymous with punk rock before being considered a genre in its own right that incorporated aspects of electronic and experimental music, mod subculture, disco and 1960s pop music. New Wave, as a term, has been used to describe all post-punk rock music, yet, it distances itself from other post-punk movements as it displays characteristics common to pop music, rather than the more "arty" post-punk.[15]
As a genre, it incorporates much of the original punk rock sound and ethos[7][16] yet it is characterized by greater complexity in both music and lyrics. Common characteristics of New Wave music, aside from its punk influences, include the use of synthesizers and electronic productions, the importance of styling and the arts, as well as a great amount of diversity.[15] As a term, New Wave is often used to describe music which was quirky and eccentric, yet also catchy and pop at heart, incorporating clear melodious hooks. In such a way, its style varies greatly, ranging from 1950s and 60s rock revivalism, ska and reggae-styled music, to synthpop-oriented dance.[17]
New Wave is seen as one of the definitive genres of the 1980s;[18] at the time, it enjoyed commercial success as several of the major artists and groups of the time were labelled New Wave. The genre became a fixture on MTV,[15][17] and the popularity of several New Wave artists has been partially attributed to the exposure that was given to them by the channel.[17] In the mid 1980s differences between New Wave and other music genres began to blur.[9][15] New Wave has enjoyed resurgences since the 1990s, after a "nostalgia" for New Wave swept across the music scene, influencing several artists.[17] The revivals in the 1990s and early 2000s were small, but became popular by 2004; subsequently, the genre has influenced a variety of music genres.[10][11][19][20][21][22][23]

Here is Erin's collection photo!  She did a fantastic job and these colors are all amazing!!

I hope you enjoyed these two pretties from Nostalgic Nail Lacquer!! Make sure you check out Erin's site, http://nostalgicnaillacquer.bigcartel.com/!

Hope you have a great day!!
Much Love,
Crystal

Polish Addict - Dr. Franken

Hi Everyone!!! I sincerely hope you had a Merry Christmas with your loved ones!! I was extremely lucky to see all my family and to spend time with them as well as our friends for Mr. CC's birthday!!  It was a full weekend, but one of the best I've had in a while!  So with that, I apologize I left the internet world behind and haven't had a blog post :-)  It was my mini winter break! lol  I missed you all though!!

Today I have a gorgeous polish by Polish Addict!  It is SO fun!!  It's a mix of crazy glitters, different sizes and colors, a lot of neons, perfect for a crazy party - such as New Year's Eve!? hehe :-)

I started with 2 coats of Zoya Marley and added 1 coat of Polish Addict Dr. Franken.  I then topped with Seche Vite.

I love the large blue squares in this, as seen on my index finger!  I also love Zoya Marley because it's a nice calm shade, with a hint of purple.  I think Dr. Franken definitely brings the party flavor out of Marley!

There are squares, hexagons, and micro glitter mixed through!  Colors are mixed through of lime green, blue, pink, yellow, red, and even black!

Laura, the owner, has a shop at www.shoppolishaddict.bigcartel.com.  She should be restocking today!!  Make sure you check it out, because she has some beautiful creations available!! You can purchase Dr. Franken for $8.00. To stay up to date with Polish Addict for upcoming collections, restocks, and other business news, you can follow @polish_addict_34 on Instagram and check out Polish Addict on Facebook too!

I love how it looks in the bottle.  I love her new labels!! The brushes are a little bigger, so 1 coat of glitter does apply pretty thick, but easily to get them where I wanted on the nail.

Close Up!!

I hope you all enjoyed the weekend and Holiday!!  I'm not excited to work today, as it has been SO nice to just relax and spend time with everyone.  I am definitely ready to ring in the new year though!!  And I'm glad this is a short week ;-)

Much Love,
Crystal

Happy New Year!! By Laquerlicious

Hello Everyone!! This post is extremely pic heavy!!  But hopefully you'll enjoy it, as these three New Year's Eve polishes by Laquerlicious are gorgeous~!  And the best part?  They are on sale for $6.50!  However, once they are gone, they are gone for good!  I would hurry to order, because these are fantastic!!  The glitter mixes and application are perfection.

Hurry to check them out at Laquerlicious - Etsy. A few other holiday colors are for sale for $6.50 too! You can also shop at Laquerlicious - Big Cartel for other pretties, but the Holiday ones are listed on Etsy only.

I used a base of 2 coats of Orly Au Champagne.  I then applied 1 coat of Stroke of Midnight and topped with Seche Vite.

Michelle says:  This polish is in a clear base with all kinds of things going on! It has medium/large hex & square silver hologram glitter, tiny/medium/large matte black hex & square glitter, and silver & black bar glitter. This polish would look so great on a silver polished nail!!

I just love the way the holographic glitters glow!!  It makes for a stunning effect, plus balanced by the black and on top of the white, I think this has a winter party feel to it!  Au Champagne has that gorgeous shimmer in it too.  I really love this combo!

The bottle shows lots of the holo glitter!!

Close up!

For the next mani, I started with a base of 3 coats of Rescue Beauty Lounge Moxie.  I love this gold shimmery polish!  I then applied 1 coat of Champagne Celebration and topped with Seche Vite.  Is it me, or am I using a lot of polishes that are named champagne!? haha I didn't plan that ;-)

Michelle says:  This polish is in a clear base with all kinds of things going on! It has large gold hologram hex & square glitter, tiny and medium gold hologram glitter, gold bar glitter, black matte bar glitter, and large, medium and small black matte hex & square glitter. This polish would look awesome over a lighter gold polish!

I actually hadn't read what Michelle wrote until after I chose my base!  I agree with her, the light gold color really compliments the gold holographic and black matte glitters!

The bottle shows some of the holographic glitters sparkling!

Moxie has that gorgeous gold shimmer through it, so it compliments Champagne Celebration perfectly in my opinion!

Close up!

And last but not least, I used my go to, OPI Mod About You.  I know, I know - I keep using this, but truly it is such a fun pink!  Then I layered 1 coat of Invitation Only and topped with Seche Vite.  Look at all the sparkles!!!

Michelle says: This polish is in a clear base with all kinds of things going on! It has medium/large hex & square silver hologram glitter, tiny/medium matte black hex & square glitter, multi colored micro bar glitter, and extra large magenta, purple and blue hex glitter. This polish is so awesome!! It's a party in a bottle!

I love the tiny little glitters in this one!  They are all different colors, which is why I chose a lighter base in order to try to show them off some!

This one really reminds me of the confetti that falls at midnight!  It just has so many beautiful colors and bar glitters, larger glitters, the tiny microglitters - they make it look like it's party time!

Close up! See all the colors!?  I love love love!

Don't forget to stop by Laquerlicious - Etsy for these New Year's Eve Edition colors! Limited quantities available! When it's gone, it's gone! Michelle won't be making any more. Also, as I mentioned, you can shop for other regular colors at Laquerlicious - Big Cartel.
I'm going to try to get some manis done for Christmas, but with how busy things have been, I can't promise anything!  Tonight we have Cosmic Bowling for Mr. CC's birthday!  I can't wait :-)

Have a great weekend!! If you are already celebrating Christmas like I will be, enjoy your time with your loved ones!!!

Much Love,
Crystal
