Lacquistry Shredded

Hello Everyone!   Today is the end of the week and tomorrow morning I have a date with my pillow.  Oh how I will enjoy not leaving it bright and early like I normally do!  And I don't even get up that early...these people that wake up at 5am - ha!  My eyes feel heavy just thinking about it!! ;-)

So anyway, I was quick to purchase this beautiful polish named Shredded from Lacquistry when she recently opened.  You can find her shop HERE.  However, she is currently closed, but will hopefully reopen soon!  (I feel like I repeat those words to you guys a lot - so sorry!!).  Anyway, the really really bad news is that I don't think she will be making this anymore.  I know, I go ahead and make you look at these swatches of something you can't have.  Well, I'm sincerely hoping Jenna from Lacquistry will be able to someday bring if back for you guys!  Not sure though :-(

I used a base of China Glaze Tantalize Me.  The hubby actually picked it when I asked him!  It had caught my eye before I asked him too, so I went ahead and used it.  I was so glad, as it is a perfect match with Shredded (although, just about any color of cremes or light shimmer would probably look good with it!)  I used 2 coats of Tantalize me and 1 coat of Shredded.  I did place the pieces as some of them were larger.  I had a couple stick up at me, so I yelled at them and they immediately went flat.  Just kidding, I used Seche Vite - my go to for tough glitter/shards - and it worked like a charm.  Ok, enough of my chatter!  Picture time!

Love the subtle blue shimmer in this!!

So last weekend, our friends came over to hang out!  My girlfriend and I painted nails while the boys played video games :-)  It was fun!!  We even talked the guys into letting us paint their pinkies!  Woohoo!
Nubar Silver Sword and Pretty & Polished Hello Dolly
ManGlaze Fuggen Ugly with P&P Hello Dolly
Nerd Lacquer Holy Grail over black
Daring Digits Master Chief

My girlfriend painted her nails using Shredded because she loves it as much as I do!!  She used it over Julep Hayden, which is a light peachy cream that is almost neon looking!  I don't know if that made sense, but it's cool. haha

I hope you enjoyed Shredded!  Maybe if we beg, she'll bring it back?  :-D  Hope you all have a fantastic Easter and enjoy the weekend!  And it just dawned on me that I didn't do anything really Easter related...hmmm  well Orly Ancient Jade and Pretty and Polished Party on my Yacht is kinda pastel and Easter looking...I will see about doing something this weekend, but no promises!

Again, enjoy your weekend!! Happy Easter!!

Much Love,
Crystal

Ozotic 533

I had a request to swatch this, and the pictures were too pretty not to sure on the blog!!  Just a quick post, this is Ozotic 533.  It is a holographic with duochrome - crazy right!?  So it shifts from a blue, to purple, to a mauve/gold color depending on the light and angle.

I bought this through Llarowe HERE for $17.50.  She does have it in stock!  You can also buy from Harlow & Co. HERE for $17.00 but she is currently out of stock.

The polish is thin, but that means it is great to layer!! ;-)  I used 4 coats for these pics because I wanted to show the true bottle color.  And these pictures have no top coat!  The thumb I did a layering, you'll see when you get there!  Enjoy the pics!

Over the thumb, I did two coats of 533 over a dark grey (Daring Digits Girl's Night Out).

Ok, Ok - enough drooling!  Now go to bed, because tomorrow is FRIDAY!!! ;-)  See you all at 8:00 a.m. with another post.

China Glaze Hunger Games Duo!!

Hello Everyone!! Today I have a couple beauties of the new Hunger Games collection by China Glaze!  Mahogany Magic and Luxe and Lush were calling to me last night!  So I started out with MM with 2 coats.  It is a rich chocolate creme color!  SO shiny, as these photos are without a top coat! ;-)

Then I added a coat of Wicked Fast top coat and then Seche Vite top coat to quickly dry it!  For me, if I only do Seche Vite, I get bad tip wear the next day.  And actually, I started typing mid-painting this mani and even had some tip wear from just that!  Must learn to tip lighter I suppose!  Anyway, in the last few pictures you'll see my tip wear - insert sad face here!

I did a diagonal tape line to paint my Luxe and Lush.  I love the way this polish glows!  And even better with Mahogany Magic as the base!  I then finished if off with another coat of Wicked Fast top coat.

This is the best picture!! It looks like fire!!

So I wore this mani all day yesterday and loved it.  I knew by the end of the day though it was on to the next color - especially with my tips peeking through.  So what I sometimes do is "play" with what I've got on!  I had just bought my first dotting tool and did that on my thumb.  I then saw my beautiful bottle of Shift Happens by Girly Bits sitting on my vanity - *light bulb*.  How amazing does this look!?!  I would do this over without the tape mani and just layer the 3 colors for the ultimate flake/shift mani!! YUM!  So again, sorry for my tips and even noticed my hands are looking dry too...please forgive me!  It's too pretty not to share!

Don't worry, I will do a full review on Shift Happens!  This was just a little bonus feature for today!  Hope you enjoyed my layering!

I bought my China Glaze from Sally's Beauty Supply as buy 2, get 1 free!  And I finally signed up for their membership program and saved an additional $1 per bottle!  I bought some Prismatics too, so it worked out to be about $4 per bottle.  Sounds like a good deal to me ;-)

Much Love,
Crystal
