Pretty & Polished - Happy Holodays Duo

Hello Everyone!! Today I have a duo that is perfect for the upcoming Holidays!  Is it just me, or is time flying for anyone else?  I think with Mr. CC in the hospital for Halloween, it feels like I should still be in October, right?  Ok, I'll be fine as long as the hold off on the Christmas music just a little longer ;-)  But one thing that is helping me get into spirit are these awesome Holiday Collections!!  I may not be ready, but my nails are loving it!!  And this Duo is no exception.  It is called the Happy Holodays Duo and comes with Ruby and Glitter Topper.  

Ruby is up first!!  This is a stunning red jelly with holographic sparkles.  I almost got away with this with 1 coat!! This is 2 coats along with Poshe top coat.  It applied perfectly, which is consistent for Pretty & Polished.  This was one of my first Indie brands that I quickly came to love.  I don't think that will ever change, and Chelsea constantly ups her own ante. 

Jellies sometimes change color depending on how the light hits them.  I was experimenting with my new light box, so I would love your opinion as to what you think of these pictures!  I'm still adjusting, but thought these  pictures were able to show some of the beauty of Ruby!

This is not my favorite picture, but I kept it here because it shows some of that delicious holo sparkles!

 

For the rest of the pictures, I used my same lighting, but outside the box.  I noticed I was able to capture a better sparkle on Ruby!

I then applied 1 coat of the Glitter Topper over Ruby, topping with Poshe!  Glitter Topper is a green and red holographic glitter top coat with a clear base.  I noticed little pieces of purple/gold in pictures, which is from the holographic quality of the glitter!  It is so shiny and beautiful, I can't help but think of Christmas!  This is a versatile glitter, as it will look great over many other colors.  Since this is a duo, I wanted to show how they looked together!

 

 

I love how the red glitter isn't lost over top of Ruby.  In fact, it almost glows!  I think this is a stunning duo, as Ruby's holographic glitters sparkle beneath the Glitter Topper.  I didn't use my light box for photos of Glitter Topper, but just the lighting outside of the box.

Hello!! I was playing around with my lightbox!! Here are some bottle shots of Fathomless by Girly Bits!!  I think these pictures really show the beauty of this polish!!

Fathomless is a beautiful dark teal jelly with a shifting type of microglitter that changes from blue, green and gold that sparkles like crazy!!   It has a glow to it that is absolutely stunning. I used 3 coats with Poshe top coat.

KBShimmer - Winter Collection 2012 - Part 2

Hi Everyone!!  So did you catch Part 1 of the KBShimmer Winter Collection?  Today I have 3 more to show you!! And these are all amazing!!

First up, we have Hex Appeal!  This is 3 coats with Poshe and Seche Vite top coats.  Since the glitter is a bit thicker, I have used two top coats to make sure it was as smooth as glass for photos!  I think pictures tend to show a bit more, so I think you would be fine with a thicker top coat. 

I absolutely love the dimension in this one.  In a dark blue jelly base, you will see tiny bar glitters, a dust of holo, and some light blue, blue, pink, and silver hexagons.  It applied very nicely, with the glitter not giving me any trouble.

Next we have Sugar Plum Faerie!  This is 3 coats along with Poshe and Seche Vite top coats.  This polish is such a unique mix!! I love the purple/plum jelly base that is filled with fuchsia, lime green, and purple glitters!  I just love all the sizes, especially the tiny little ones in this!!  The glitters have a bit of holographic shine to them, so it makes this polish really sparkle!

This polish isn't as thick as Hex Appeal, since there are finer glitters and only a few larger hexagons.  It applied very smoothly! 

Indoor Lighting

And last, but certainly not least, we have Snow Way!!  This is 3 coats with Poshe and Seche Vite top coats.  This beautiful blue is sky blue with white glitters, and with a dash of iridescent glitters that sparkle subtly (and hard to capture in pictures!).  This is such a beautiful bright blue, that I love how the white looks with it!

There are a lot of glitters in this, so grabbing them was easy and it was not hard for me to apply.  I love the layered look, which does remind me of snowflakes falling all around on a cold winter day!  Even though I love my warm summer days, this polish makes me want to grab a mug of hot cocoa and sit by the window watching the flakes fall! :-)

 You can see in the bottle the tiny little iridescent glitters!!
