Nail-Venturous Voodoo Doll

I am so happy it's Friday!!  WooHoo!  Weekend!!  I was SO very lucky to catch the opening of Ninja Polish to be able to order this beauty by Nail-Venturous.  Amy is so talented, and if you've been to her Etsy shop, you know that she sells out in minutes.  I'm so happy for her and her much deserved success!

This polish is called Voodoo Doll.  I did do a post previously, where you can see it layered over an OPI My Chihuahua Bites.  If you missed it, you can find that HERE.  This polish contains shiny silver and black small circular glitter, medium black and white hexagons, and more white hexagons that are a tad larger, and some large silver hexagons in a very dark grey jelly. Some of the black hexagons are a bit reflective too, flashing a purple color.  Here is Amy's description.

Voodoo Doll is sure to cast a spell on you with its light black jelly base and mix of glitters. Voodoo Doll has medium, small, and fine white, medium and fine black, and ultrafine silver glitter. This polish has full coverage in two to three coats and can be used as a layering polish with one coat. Photos show this polish with three coats and one coat of gelous. Please remember that some colors might be off a hue or two depending on camera and monitor settings. This product is 3 free, and comes in a 15ml/.5 oz full size bottle.

Nail Venturous Voodoo Doll can be purchased HERE at Ninja Polish. Amy's Etsy shop can be found HERE. Voodoo Doll is currently out of stock at Ninja and Amy's Etsy shop is currently closed, but sign up for their e-mail notification and you'll have a chance to scoop one up!  On to the pictures!

I wore this on Wednesday and even my dentist asked about it!!  She was mind-blown that it was only one polish LOL!  I tried to explain about the custom colors that are being created, but non-polish addicts don't quite understand it like we do hahaha!!  She smiled and said I should be a hand model for it, which I suppose that's sort of what a blog is, right?  I didn't get into detail about my blog and my nearing 600 bottle collection...there probably wasn't enough time to tell her about it with all those tools in my mouth anyway :-) haha

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!  I think I need to sit down and play with some of these new polishes!  There hasn't been a lot of free time for me to just sit down and have a swatch fest this week!! haha

Much Love,
Crystal

Lynnderella ChocoLotta Love

Look at that delicious bottle!  Ok, we'll get to that later.  First, my base was Nubar Gold Feather.  Now after looking online at swatches, I feel like my label was switched with Gold Leaf!  So beware if you love this color and are looking to purchase.  I bought this direct from Nubar.  Even looking at their site, it looks like I have the wrong label.  Anyway, I love this color.  It is a gold that shifts to a mauve/pink color.  I apologize for the crazy angles, but this bad boy wouldn't photograph very well for me.  Plus in some pics, it shows my ridges from my weak nails!  Lol sorry!!

As I mentioned a few days ago, the Lynnderella frankens are in very high demand.  Leah Ann LaRowe, who is currently the only seller of Lynnderellas, has created a wish list system. That is how I received this one. Now it did take me a couple months, and I still even have some on back order.  There are SO many of us that want these, so I understand that this is going to be a long process. I know not everyone wants to wait for these from what I've read, but to me they are worth it.
You can find Leah Ann's site at http://shop.llarowe.com/. You can find her Facebook HERE, which she updates constantly as to how things are moving along in her shop. Unfortunately she isn't accepting wish lists at this time because she is filling the orders of the current wish lists. She will hopefully be getting more orders soon to continue to move through them to be able to accept new lists.
ChocoLotta Love is gorgeous.  I know, I know! I always say they're a surprise in a bottle...but seriously!  Every time I dipped my brush, I got a new color glitter out!! And you can see it on my nails.  It was like it was changing colors within the bottle!!!  Ok, not really, but it seriously amazed me (I suppose it doesn't take much to keep me entertained!).    There are pink, blue, green, lime green, orange, brown, purple, and red glitters all mixed through in shapes of square, round, and hexagon, with all different sizes.  The main concept of the polish is the brown small hexagons with brown micro glitter.  In the light, these shine almost a bronze color.  I believe the base was clear? It's hard to tell but I think because of the glitter it is more murky now.  It also seems to be matte?  Call me crazy, but maybe that is why the polish has the texture it does.  Which, by the way, I used 1 coat of Wicked Fast and 1 coat of Poshe.

So I do love this polish.  I have a darker brown I was going to use for this, and maybe will try that in the future.  I did like the lighter brown under this though.  I think it lost the duochrome, but that was ok with me ;-)

Friday is almost here...we can do it!  LOL  I apologize I haven't been as timely with commenting back on here!  I do read and appreciate every single comment!  This has been a busy week!  I will try to write back soon!  I am on Twitter and Facebook if you do have a question for me ;-)

Nerd Lacquer Masonic

How could I almost forget posting this beauty!  Sorry!! So much nail mail lately, it's hard to decide what to post first!  I wore this on Saturday going to the Hunger Games!  Kind of fitting, right?  I didn't plan it, but I was so excited to try it Friday after I received it!!  It was kind of an overcast day though, so no sun pictures!  However, the camera picked up the glitter perfectly!

I love that this polish was kind of a murky red, someone called it rusty on Instagram!  I'm not sure I would have known it was made with brick unless I had read it, but since I know it seems so obvious to me now!  There are black little pieces which might be from the brick.  Ok, otherwise it could just be black glitter.  Either way! lol  Next the rusty, brick base is sprinkled with small, round red glitters.  And to top it off is the red and orange squares and hexagons that sort of glow within the polish.

Here is Amanda of Nerd Lacquers description!

MASONIC rounds out the first NerdLacquer Special Edition line. Is it a delicious true brick red? Yes it is. Is it a suspiciously accurate shade of brick red? Why yes! That's because it's MADE OF BRICKS. Brick dust, lacquer base, crap ton of complementary glitters in burnt orange, espresso brown, coppers, and reds. Is it gritty? Kinda! I do double-filter the brick dust before mixing, to remove any offensively large masonic nuggets, but there's still definitely texture there. Personally, I think it adds to the verisimilitude, you know? Yes, it's a novelty polish, but it's also pretty rad lookin'! No, you can't build stuff with it. :(

She is right, it is gritty.  I ended up using 3 coats of Masonic, but not because it wasn't opaque.  I was having trouble trying to get the glitters positions around the nail to have it picture perfect for you guys.  Sorry there are a couple poking out here and there - lol!!  Anyway, 2 coats would have been plenty.  It does look really deep though, doesn't it!?  I did use 1 coat of Wicked Fast, and 1 coat of Poshe.  Anyway, on to the pictures!  ;-)

Indoors - artificial lighting

I have good news and bad news.  The good news is that there are 3 places you can buy Nerd Lacquer.  I purchased this from Etsy on Amanda's shop, that you can find HERE.  Ninja Polish sells it HERE. Harlow and Co. sells it HERE.  Ok, before you run to these shops - the bad news is that it isn't available at this time!  I know, I know - I'm sorry!! But Amanda should hopefully be making more as we speak, so check the shops and watch for Amanda's store to reopen!  There is also the option of notify me when in stock for Ninja and Etsy has a notify me when returning from vacation.  Both of those should help!  I know only certain colors are offered at certain places, so I am not 100% sure that all three will carry this color, as it is the newest color she has created!  All Nerd Lacquers sell for $10.

I hope you enjoyed this look at Masonic!  How amazing to have a polish made with bricks!  So unique!

Have a great day!! ;-)

Elixir Lacquers Bad Kitty and Lynnderella Mademoiselle Violette de Bleu

Today I have a very special pair for you and this post is PIC HEAVY!!  I know some of these frankens are becoming harder and harder to find due to a high demand.  These two that I have today are unfortunately even harder to find.  Elixir Lacquers created Bad Kitty with only 25 bottles available.  A little while later, she released 25 more, which then I was able to get bottle 36!  I've heard her mention it may be coming back in another set of 25, so please check her Facebook HERE for details.  Her website is http://www.elixirlacquers.com/ and she has many other awesome colors for you to try.  With a K is another favorite of mine that I received with this order and will show you all at a later time.

Bad Kitty is a gorgeous purple with a teal shimmer.  It was a tad sheer, so I went with 3 coats.  I topped it with 1 coat of Wicked Fast and then 1 coat of Poshe.  Since it was so glossy, it showed my every flaw! lol I used the extra top coat to try to help even it out.  It is such a simple, elegant color.  I can't wait to start layering it for some awesome combos! ;-)

I had a request to do Mademoiselle Violette de Bleu by Lynnderella, so I thought these two would make an awesome pair!!  Mademoiselle Violette de Bleu is very pretty.  It reminds me of Bibbity Bobbity Boo Blue, but Mademoiselle Violette de Bleu has more purple and less holo glitter.  I will try to do a comparison post in the future (I have so much to show you guys!).  Mademoiselle Violette de Bleu has a slightly tinged base of blurple - a bluish/purple with blue, purple, teal glitters of round, squares and hexagons of multiple sizes.  There is also a fine blue micro glitter throughout the polish.  Honestly, it's a surprise for what you get on the nail.  I've said that many times for Lynnderella.  I think I even see some opalescent hexagons that are almost clear and shine bluish!  I always get amazing looking at a bottle by Lynnderella.  She has some amazing frankens.

Now for those that are unfamiliar with Lynnderella, because her frankens are in such high demand, Leah Ann LaRowe has created a wish list system.  That is how I received this one and the others I posted on Friday night.  Now it did take me a couple months, and I still even have some on back order.  I just put it out of my mind and tried to wait patiently.  There are SO many of us that want these, so I understand that this is going to be a long process.  I know not everyone wants to wait for these from what I've read, but to me they are worth it.  Lynn is a one woman operation, with a full time job too.  I know other frankeners have been able to take the next step of quiting their job to go onto making their hobby a full time business.  I can only hope Lynn will be able to do the same in the future!  She has talent and I'm glad to be able to own quite a few of her creations.  I know it seems like a ton of work for just polish, but I think once I have them, I forget about how long it took and I am so excited to start painting!

For this look, I used scotch tape for my line.  Make sure to stick it to your skin a few times before applying to the nail.  I usually do one nail at time.  I only used one coat of Mademoiselle Violette de Bleu, but dabbed around to make sure it looked even.  I then used 1 coat of Poshe.  I absolutely love how this turned out.  I'm so sorry these aren't easier to access for you guys!

So if you're on a list for Lynnderella, hold tight because you'll love them!  If you are hoping to get on a list, I hope it goes quickly for you and that you'll soon be added!  As for the Elixir Lacquer Bad Kitty, hopefully she'll have another set available if this is something you love!  If you do want it, use the link above and comment on her Facebook to let her know how much you love it!

Hope you enjoyed the many pictures!! Have a great day!!

Much Love,
Crystal
